JANICE SIKES ROGERS
LONGTIME RESIDENT OF WESTVIEW, LIBRARIAN AND WEST END HISTORIAN

Janice Sikes Rogers does not live in Westview or West End anymore, she lived there beginning in the 70s. She has made studying the area her hobby and part of her career. If you’re in want of more resources on the history of Westview and West End, she’s the person to ask. She was a librarian for forty years and has documented and researched the history of West End and many other places throughout Georgia. She has family buried in Westview cemetery and still attends church in the area. She remembers the days of Maynard Jackson’s residency there and discusses the history of Hammonds House Museum in West End. She is a community member who likes to get things done, and believes that is a common trait in Westview. “This is a community of start-ups . . . if we want something done, we do it.”
